Providing a clean water source is essential to ensure
optimal animal health. Good, clean water begins with
a thorough water line sanitation program.

5 EASY STEPS

1. TEST YOUR WATER

– pH level
– coliforms
– scale causing minerals
(calcium, magnesium, manganese, iron)

2. PREPARE PROXY-CLEAN TO REMOVE BIOFILM

Proxy-Clean will effectively eliminate any biofilm or slime in the system.
*Before using Proxy-Clean, make sure there is an adequate release from your water system

PREPARE PROXY-CLEAN

For best results, use suggested levels of Proxy-Clean in the water lines:

BETWEEN 2 LOTS / WITH NO ANIMALS

Option 1
Medicator adjustment 1:100 or 1:128
The solution Proxy-Clean/Water must stay in the water lines for a minimum of 48 hours.

Option 2
Medicator adjustment 3:100 (some medicators only)
The solution Proxy-Clean/Water must stay in the water lines for a minimum of 12 hours.

WITH ANIMALS PRESENT

Option 3
Mix Proxy-Clean to water following the recommendations below:

3. CLEAN THE WATER LINES

*A container of 3.8 litres of Proxy-Clean cleans 1,500 feet of 3/4” water lines with the medicator adjusted at 3:100, or cleans 4,500 feet of 3/4” water lines with the medicator adjusted at 1:100.

a) If possible, drain the system completely.
b) Begin pumping Proxy-Clean into the water lines at recommended levels.
c) Trigger each nipple drinker so that the solution saturates each nipple.

d) Make sure the solution has reached the end of the line. You will notice fizzing or bubbling when actionating a nipple or opening the end of the line.

e) Close the tap and leave the product in the line for the recommended period.
f) Flush the solution from the water lines after the holding period.

4. USE JEFACID TO REMOVE MINERAL SCALING

After the lines are cleaned, add JEFACID water acidifier to reach a pH level of 5. Fill the lines with water and let it sit for 24 hours. Drain the lines and nipples.

5. KEEP SYSTEM CLEAN

Lower the water pH to 6 – 6.5 and add chlorine to 1 – 3 ppm at the end of the line. Target 750 mV on the ORP meter

FINAL NOTES:

When adding Proxy-Clean to the water, do not use chlorine as it may affect the efficiency of Proxy-Clean and of chlorine. Chlorine and Proxy-Clean may also reduce the efficiency of vaccines and/or medications. Resume the use of chlorine after the treatment is finished.

PROXY-CLEAN

Proxy-Clean is a hydrogen peroxide based product, specially formulated to work in livestock operations of any size. It is equipment friendly and was certified by an independent laboratory as less corrosive than other cleaning products commonly used in watering systems.

JEFACID

Studies have shown that acidification of water is an important tool in maintaining water quality. Jefacid is an acidifier that allows for the effective, stable and long-term reduction of pH in water, allowing more efficient water chlorination.
